We can't help but cringe when retailers tout their "curated" assortments of merch, but the selection of interesting stuff is indeed spot-on at AHAlife. Launched last year by CEO Shauna Mei and her team, the "discovery shopping destination" offers an ever-changing range of life-enhancing goods, with a new item (and the story behind it) added each day. Amazon.com this is not, so don't bother hitting up the site in search of bargains or staples. Instead, design-minded buyers will find a treasure trove of perfect gifts, from the functional (paint that transforms any surface into a dry-erase board, a luxe iPhone case handcrafted of leather and titanium) to the wonderfully ridiculous (a staple remover in the form of an alligator, the $900 "skull in a bottle wine decanter").
