Talking Covers

If you've ever stopped into a bookstore more to browse the latest cover designs rather than to make a purchase (hey, you've got the Internet for that!), there's much to enjoy on the digital pages of Talking Covers. The fresh new blog brings together authors, designers and artists to discuss a particular book cover. Sharp-eyed editor Sean Manning launched the site last month with a behind-the-scenes look at the cover of his own memoir, The Things That Need Doing (Broadway, 2010), and has since explored the creative choices behind covers designed by the likes of Peter Mendelsund for Ben Marcus and Barbara deWilde for Luc Sante. Talking Covers is definitely a blog worthy of bookmarking.
