Sure, your Mac screen is a virtual canvas, but would you ever cover it up with paint? Graphic designer Satta van Daal brings old Macs back to life as pieces of artwork—covering their plastic casings with bright, graphic images. He's painted a Mac Classic to resemble the old happy-Mac start-up icon and made over laptops with illustrations of Apple founders Jobs and Wozniak. Van Daal plans to feature them all in an exhibit titled iPaint myMac in Australia later this year.

Jessica Joslin's sculptures might be a little too eerie for the nightstand, but you can probably sleep near her new book, Strange Nature, without having any nightmares. It features full-color images of the delicate creatures this Chicago artist crafts from bones, brass, antique hardware and other unusual objects. These beautiful species evolved from the imagination rather than Mother Nature, and they give off an unsettling vibe in the daytime—let alone if you ran across one unexpectedly in the dark.

You're probably already filling up a classic Moleskine notebook with deep thoughts and on-the-fly sketches. So why shouldn't that plain-Jane cover reflect your creativity, too? Just point your mouse to EngraveYourBook.com and upload a custom design that looks good in black and white. They'll engrave your art onto a brand new Moleskine (you choose the size and style) with a laser. You can even run text up the spine or submit designs to be sold as part of the site's artist series.
