Remember that part in Toy Story where the bully next door rips apart innocent toys and rebuilds them as monsters? We think he was just a frustrated designer, and now you can indulge similar creative visions without shedding any stuffing. FAO Schwarz's Make-My-Own-Monster Custom Design Kit invites you to draw a monster and create its story. Then the company brings your vision to life as a 20-inch plush toy complete with a hang tag about its life. The only thing scarier is the $249 price tag.

Stefan G. Bucher's work never fails to inspire awe, but the designer and illustrator's latest project brings back the pure joy of drawing most people lose with childhood. His new tome, 100 Days of Monsters, unleashes irresistible ink-blot creatures into bookstores on March 1. Originally created for his Daily Monster blog, these beings appear alongside stories about them written by the site's fans. The book also comes with a DVD showing how Bucher brought each character to life.

Sure, a USB Flash drive helps your work travel from one place to another, but there's no reason it can't make you smile, too. Especially when there's a steady stream of new Mimobots—memory sticks disguised as all manner of monsters, imaginary friends and even Star Wars characters—just waiting for homes. The latest offerings include Flash drives based on designs from the FriendsWithYou art collective. These happy, magical creatures even come preloaded with icons, wallpapers and sounds.
