When not drawing illustrations for book covers and editorial spreads, Kate Quinby of Seattle, Wash., is designing Lil’ Awesome onesies. They are stylishly simple and clever in concept. Each diagram illustrates a different baby chore, from how to dispose of a diaper to where that little spoon turned airplane should pull in for a landing. And the idyllic sound of sleeping is captured coming out of a baby monitor. Available in many cute colors.

In the summer we get used to having Mother Nature water our plants and herbs. But when it’s time to move them inside, sometimes we forget to water our leafy green friends. So the designers at Eva Solo have designed a sophisticated self-watering flowerpot. Beneath a handsome ceramic pot is a glass container which functions as a water reservoir. Water is drawn up through nylon threads that hang down from the bottom of the pot like extensions of the plant’s own roots. A very clever idea.

Nathalie Shible of Ontario, Canada, is the accessories designer for Lime—an online retail shop that stocks handmade items like iPod cases (Nano and Shuffle cases, too) designed with clear vinyl fronts for easy dial access and a vinyl strap with clasp to keep the miniature jukebox close at the hip. Equipped with icons of pink mopeds and harmless but hungry dinosaurs, her designs are sweet and affordable at $22 each.
