Hundreds of small towns across the U.S. boast of the “world’s largest” something. Whether it’s a 15-foot fiberglass strawberry or a 40-foot concrete pheasant, these odd, funny, and sometimes beautiful statues stand as a testament to local identity. Filmmakers Elizabeth Donius and Amy Elliott are close to finishing the one-hour documentary World’s Largest. Take a sneak peek at some of the still photographs they’ve collected while shooting on the road.

Humus is an online bookstore where visitors provide the content. Visual content, that is. Creative minds are encouraged to contribute designs, illustrations, photographs, and animations. So far, six virtual moleskin notebooks have been filled with the eccentric handiwork of international artists. Each submission, each spread, tells a different story, and yet when published together the varying aesthetics appear seamless. Humus is a labor of love. Produced by two Italian designers, Luca and Mirko of Zerouno Design.

Send a snapshot of your favorite friend or family member to collage artist Claudine Hellmuth and she’ll produce a whimsical one-of-a-kind work of art using the photo. An expert in collage art (she’s written two books about her unique techniques), Hellmuth’s style is now trademarked. Poppets feature familiar faces amid layers of colorful textured paint and paper on canvas. Patrons can contribute to the art process by sending fabric, wallpaper, or paint swatches of their choice.
